FROM A STUDENT OF THE ASK PROGRAMME: MY EXPERIENCES
ASK Programme — Prophetic Knowledge of Ancient Times
The ASK Course is, for me, an inspiring new field of knowledge. Strictly speaking, it is the Prophetic Knowledge of ancient times and therefore not new. Countless Prophets in their time and appropriate to their traditions and environment, must have once known and lived its authentic teachings. The Programme is about 'what is' and 'how things truly are'.
Understanding of Who we Truly are
From the course, we gain an understanding of who we truly are and why. This enables us to understand ourselves, others and life itself. Without this insight, we could not make our way through our existence with ease, without getting ourselves lost in this mire called life.
The Transcendent Quality of the ASK Course Lessons
The lessons are a useful guide in making life work for us. They provide the key to transcending the many aspects of the material world and its limitations.
I see around me how many, who have none of this knowledge, are caught up in the illusions of the world. There is a sense of general malaise and unhappiness. With little understanding of how the many spiritual laws operate and the lack of the true Murshid (Teacher) or guide, one must feel the frustration of not knowing, of being unable to make one's way in life and of failing to find true inner peace and joy.
How Principles of Life Operate
Not having the explanations for how the principles of life operate and therefore without this essential understanding, not knowing how to go forward and make appropriate choices, must surely leave in many the feeling of emptiness, joylessness and purposelessness.
There is little else in modern day existence that prepares one for the challenges of life. The inadequacies of the modern education system are evident. If anything, they teach a two dimensional framework that takes people away from life and the truth about life. They avoid the essential issues about our existence and about living successfully.
Meaning of Our Existence
Lesson 14 examines the way in which people suffer arrested development when they fail to penetrate the deeper meanings of life. Looking beyond form for meaning is important. If people have been crying out for answers to the questions of our existence then here they are.
Need to Go Back to Unity
There are countless self-help books written to assist people in finding some sense of meaning and joy in their lives. Jean Paul Sartre wrote in his Existentialist philosophy that the key problem of our time is alienation, angst and anxiety. Not surprisingly, many of the problems of separation came about when Rene Descartes split mind from body in his "I think therefore I am" statement and his theory of Cartesian Dualism in the 17th Century. From then on, we lost our way as a human race and moved further and further away from the central truth of life, that we are all one. We need to go back to Unity, to wholeness, to an understanding that we are not separate from God.
Many "Self-Help" Books are Pure Information
The ASK programme takes us further. It connects us with the unseen and other realms of existence which is an accurate and truthful perspective of where we are in the world, in the cosmos and in the universe. It avoids all the airy fairyness of the new-age ideas written by people who claim to have insight into life. Much of the new age content, as far as I can tell, is distraction from what truly matters. Some are no doubt genuine but in my view, have yet to penetrate the heart of the truth.
Ultimately many "Self-Help" books are just interesting reads, pure information, and very lttle changes when you're done with them. Life goes on as before. The same may be said about courses on offer at universities, colleges and workplaces. When they're over, little of value is retained. Few books and courses offer content that transform you while you engage with it. Few bring you to peace and wholeness. And People are crying out for meaningful experiences and personal growth to happen to them.
The ASK Programme is Transformative
The knowledge offered in ASK, I believe, is the breakthrough much needed today. Those who are searching for something of value, for transformation and guidance to true peace and freedom will find fulfillment in the ASK programme. When you've had enough of the pain, the suffering and the hardship, of living under the illusion, and you're looking for answers, here they are. And even if you're not. Even when life seems vaguely satisfying. The Programme has everything necessary to end the boredom of not knowing. Knowledge is empowering and with it comes relief and personal freedom.
Interactive Learning
There is the Lesson material to read through, the facilitator assigned to you making this work interactive and living and there are other participants in the programme to meet with and discuss the content of the course. The students of the ASK programme are a group of people who are experienced with this kind of work, dynamic, open-minded and ever-growing in their understanding and appreciation of the ASK concepts.
Self-Paced Provides Flexibility
There is an opportunity to express your own views and experiences in an assignment which you send to your facilatator at the end of each of the 14 lessons [of Course One]. I appreciate the flexibility of doing the work at my own pace. I believe, as a secondary school teacher myself, that this is a very good way for people to learn.
The Founder of ASK
Above all, there is the philosopher's stone, the Founder of the ASK programme and the guide, under whose touch everything turns to gold. The originator and source of the lessons has amazing transforming ability.
You'll Know Who You Are
At last you will know how you're here, and why and who and how you are. You will experience the mysteries of our multi-dimensional existence. You will be inspired with the statements of truth and your knowledge will continue to grow and expand. The suffering from not knowing, the ignorance and blindly living each day are well and truly over when you complete the course. Above all transformation will come and with it, inner peace.
