Report on ASK Workshops Held in Pretoria April / May 2010 by Haider Naqvi and Mortaza Morton A total of 4 ASK workshops were held at the ASK Hall, Rasooli Centre, Pretoria, South Africa during April and May 2010. They were presented by Haider Naqvi (who was visiting from UK), and Mortaza Morton (based in SA). |

The workshops were based on themes from various ASK lessons, but were presented in a changed format to earlier workshops. Instead of going through the lessons, particular aspects were highlighted and expanded upon. For example, two of the workshops were based on ASK lesson 7 "Evolving Consciousness", Section 7.3 "The Mind and its Limitations". The workshops were entitled "Seeing Things As They Truly Are". The title itself is based on a Prophetic supplication. At first, participants accepted the supplication as being valid, but did not effectively relate to it, because essentially we all feel that we DO see things as they really are. Very soon into the workshop, however, participants were quite dramatically brought to the realization that very often we do NOT see things as they truly are, and that we struggle to distinguish between habituated thinking patterns, and fresh open-minded observations.
According to the feedback received, all of the attendees found the workshops had achieved their stated objectives, and most importantly a number of first time visitors found that the course was more accessible than they had originally perceived it to be. |

"With Shaykh Fadhlalla in South Africa", by Shaykh Kabir Helminski The friends of Allah are the most beautiful people. During the days I spent at the Rasooli Center with Shaykh Fadhlalla and friends from South Africa, England, Canada, United States, Iran, and Scandinavia, what I witnessed was an unbroken flow of kindness, generosity, nurturing, respect, humor, and love. |

A Marvelous Review of SFH's Book, "Witnessing Perfection" "With great respect and affection, I would like to say how very much I have just enjoyed reading [this] wonderful book: 'Witnessing Perfection'." |

"Witnessing Perfection" by Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri was passed on to me by a friend, and for this, I shall always be deeply grateful as this book is one of the clearest and most helpful I've ever read on the subject of spiritual enlightenment.
In each chapter, Shaykh Haeri points us to the Light of the ONE that can be awakened and known in every heart.
This Light, he explains, is not a thing but life itself and the Light by which all things are seen and made real to us.
He shows us the deep connection between the inner world and the outer world and how, if we identify fully with the inner Light of Perfection, our outer life-experience becomes more harmonious, rewarding and fulfilling.
These insights are a wonderful gift from Islam to readers in all societies today.
